In the study aiming to evaluate the effect of the Public Health course given to the students of Vocational School of Health Services (SHMYO) on Healthy Life Awareness (SYF) and Health Promoting and Protective Behaviors (SGKD), the mean age of the participants was 22.69±14.32, 57.8% of them were women. 67.8% of the participants had a nuclear family, 66.7% had 5 or more siblings, 51.1% had no health insurance, 26.1% had mothers; The fathers of 27.2% were literate, 39.4% from the medical documentation department, 51.1% had insufficient monthly income, 23.6% stated that they used cigarettes, 5.5% used alcohol, 6.7% had a chronic disease, 20.6% had genetics in the family. disease, 10% have emotional anomalies; 67.2% were at normal weight and 4.4% were obese. A significant difference was found between the total score of the SYF scale after the public health course of the experimental group and the mean scores of the sub-dimensions change, responsibility and nutrition before and after the education (p<0.05). In the control group, however, no significant difference was found between the SYFS total and sub-dimension mean scores (except for the nutrition sub-dimension) post-test and pre-test (p>0.05). A significant difference was found between the total score of the experimental group's SDQS and the sub-dimensions of physical health promotion, psychosocial health promotion and health protection before and after the training (p<0.05). In the control group, no significant difference was found between the post-test and the pre-test in the mean score of the SSBS total and sub-dimensions (except for the physical health promotion sub-dimension) (p>0.05). Experimental group post-test SDSS total and sub-dimension mean scores were significantly higher than the control group. Again, the posttest SYF total and sub-dimension mean scores of the experimental group (except for the nutrition sub-dimension) were found to be significantly higher than the control group (p<0.01). As a result of the correlation analysis, the R value was found to be ,443. As SRSS increased, SYFI increased significantly (p<0.01). According to the results obtained in the study, the relationship between both scales is positive. In the formation of a healthy society, it is important that students who receive education in the field of health adopt healthy lifestyle behaviors. In order for them to contribute to the environment throughout their professional life, SHMYO students should be given a public health course that includes healthy life awareness, health promotion and protection in a comprehensive way.
