Abstract

Paper and cardboard are the most widely used underprinting materials in printing technologies. Although there are a few basic printing systems, the digital printing production method has come to the fore, especially in low-quantity, fast reproduction works, personalized prints, and artistic works. In this study, different grams of paper were printed, coated and uncoated with dry and liquid toner electrophotographic digital printing method. Printed ISO12647-2 graphic technology – proof and production prints process control for the production of color separations, screen - Offset processes and ISO12647-8 graphics technology – proof and production prints process control screen for the production of color separations directly from digital data with a colour fitting-pressure processes is made on the basis of standards. Surface scans were performed using densitometer and spectrophotometer X-rite Eyeone iO over Test prints. Color universes of prints, densitometric values, L*a*b* values, trapping measurements, point gain values were determined and the results were shown with microscopic pictures, graphics, histograms and tables. All technical parameters listed in the tables were compared with the offset printing standard parameters. It has been determined that the dry-toned digital printing system gives the widest area of color universe in sensitive jobs, where color is very important when compared to the liquid-toned digital printing system.
