This research was conducted to identify health and occupational safety problems that both sauna users and sauna workers may encounter and to offer suggestions for solving these problems. Qualitative research method was used for the research. In this context, national and international standards and academic publications were examined. The main findings of the study include physical hazards due to high temperature and humidity, skin disorders caused by the use of chemicals, and disorders affecting the respiratory system. In addition to these, hygiene problems that may result in the risk of microbiological contamination, ergonomic factors, and psychosocial stress factors are also important findings. Risks that may arise from electrical faults and result in electric shock and fire are also very important findings. Considering all these findings, a serious risk assessment should be carried out in saunas first. In this context, employees should be regularly trained and the use of personal protective equipment should be ensured. In addition, sufficient precautions should be taken regarding environmental hygiene, periodic checks and maintenance of the devices used should be carried out regularly, and warning signs should be updated. Support should be obtained from the workplace physician and, if available, the workplace psychologist to protect employees from psychosocial stress factors. The suitability of ergonomic conditions should be regularly inspected. With all these precautions, possible health problems and work accidents will be reduced to a minimum level.
