Abstract

The "Population and Housing Census (NKS), 2021" was conducted based on administrative records by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) between October 2021 and April 2022, in line with the EU member countries.

Based on the NKS study conducted by TURKSTAT, in this study, in addition to the NKS data, an examination study was conducted on the houses in the 10 provinces with the highest number of households in Turkey by examining Turkey's population statistics, elderly population statistics, building censuses and related research studies. In the study, the number of buildings, housing type, number of floors of the building, building construction year, housing ownership status, number of rooms, number of rooms per person, availability of elevators in the building, household types, population, number of elderly people, construction cost indices parameters are presented in tables and graphs in relation to each other, and then analyzed and evaluated. In addition, some inferences were made about the renewal needs and trends in the housing stock and the scope of future statistical studies.
