Özet

D-Glikoz’un C-3 epimeri olan D-Alloz, doğada az miktarda bulunan, düşük kalorili, toksik olmayan nadir şeker türlerinden biridir. D-Alloz; antikanser, antitümör, antioksidan, antiosteoporotik, nöroprotektif, antihipertansif ve kriyoprotektif gibi birçok farmasötik aktiviteye sahiptir. Özellikle çağımızın en önemli sağlık sorunlarından biri olan kanser ile mücadelede D-Alloz, yeni aday moleküllerden biri olarak görülmektedir. Bu derlemede D-Alloz’un temel fizikokimyasal özellikleri, doğada bulunduğu kaynaklar ve farklı kanser türlerine karşı potansiyel etkileri hakkında bilgiler sunulmaktadır.
