Ruminantlarda Bitkisel Katkı Maddelerinin Beslenme, Sağlık, Verimlilik, Çevresel Etkiler ve Sürdürülebilirlik Üzerine Derleme

Özet

Bu derleme, ruminant hayvancılıkta bitkisel katkı maddelerinin beslenme, sağlık, verimlilik ve çevresel sürdürülebilirlik üzerindeki çok boyutlu etkilerini incelemeyi amaçlamaktadır. Küresel hayvancılık sektörü yılda yaklaşık 7,1 Gt CO₂-eşdeğeri sera gazı salımına neden olmaktadır. Özellikle geviş getiren hayvanlardan kaynaklanan metan emisyonları önemli bir enerji kaybına işaret eder; bu nedenle emerjenik fermantasyonu değiştirecek besleme stratejileri kritik önem taşımaktadır. Son yıllarda Avrupa Birliği’nde yem katkısı amaçlı antibiyotiklerin yasaklanması ve Yeşil Mutabakat’ın (Farm to Fork) sürdürülebilir üretim hedefleri, doğal bitkisel ekstraktlara olan ilgiyi artırmıştır. Bu bağlamda, polifenoller (tanenler, flavonoidler), saponinler, alkaloidler ve esansiyel yağlar gibi bitkisel biyoaktif bileşikler, hayvan sağlığını iyileştirme, rumen mikrobiyotası kompozisyonunu modüle etme ve patojen mikroorganizmaları baskılama özellikleriyle ön plana çıkmaktadır. Yapılan çalışmalar, uygun seçilmiş bitkisel katkıların yem sindirim etkinliğini artırdığını, protein kayıplarını azalttığını ve dolayısıyla besinlerden daha yüksek fayda sağlanabildiğini göstermektedir. Buna bağlı olarak, canlı ağırlık artışı, süt verimi, süt yağı oranı ve et kalitesinde artış gibi performans parametrelerinde iyileşmeler kaydedilmiştir. Aynı zamanda oksidatif stres ve inflamasyonun azalması yoluyla immün yanıt güçlenmekte, bağırsak patojenlerine karşı doğal savunma artmakta; antibiyotik kullanımına gereksinim düşmektedir. Öte yandan, bu biyoaktif bileşikler rumende hidrojen akışını propiyonat yönünde kaydırmakta veya metanojenik enzimleri inhibe ederek enterik metan üretimini önemli ölçüde azaltabilmektedir. Literatürde, kırmızı deniz yosunu (Asparagopsis taxiformis) gibi örnekler metan emisyonlarını %80’e varan oranda düşürmüş ve karbon ayak izine doğrudan katkı sağlayabileceği vurgulanmıştır. Sonuç olarak, güncel araştırmalar bitkisel katkı maddelerinin ruminant besleme programlarında çevreci ve sağlık odaklı alternatifler olarak yüksek potansiyele sahip olduğunu göstermektedir. Bu derleme çalışmasında, bu katkı maddelerinin besin madde kullanımı, hayvan sağlığı, performans ve metan emisyonu üzerindeki etkileri literatür sentezi ile özetlenmiştir.
